Unlocking Your Creative Process

Opening Windows to Nature

I have learned two main things through this process, first is that ideas do not form and come alive at the speed which I would like, and second that the best way to go through the process of forming and putting a container around an idea is within community.

Goldenwood’s intentional slowing down at the beginning of this process was so helpful, it forced me to hit the breaks on something I was thinking a lot about, and start to have a greater, more wholistic vision for the idea.  This allowed me to really see the spiritual trajectory of it and distill where God was ultimately leading and using this idea.  Had this process of slowing down not happened, I would have continued down a path of iterating, and not distilling.

The second thing I learned in the process is that by bringing the idea into a trusted community early, I was simultaneously able to  see what part of it was working and be encouraged by how it was effecting people, because it wasn’t developing in isolation.  I have been so thankful for the whole Goldenwood team, for their guidance, care and direction.
