We are proud to announce our newest addition to the Goldenwood Team. Our friend and now colleague Sandra McCracken Nicholson has joined us as Goldenwood’s Creative Fellow. Sandra has been involved with Goldenwood since the beginning and has become a familiar presence for many in our community.
For those who have not yet had the pleasure of meeting her, Sandra is a singer-songwriter based out of Nashville, Tennessee. With a prolific 14 solo albums over two decades, her critically acclaimed songs have also been featured on TV shows with over 15 million streams. As a writer and columnist, she released her first book Send Out Your Light in September 2021.
Even more than these accomplishments, what we deeply appreciate about Sandra is the way her life embodies the values of Goldenwood. With a distinct spirituality that has been forged through life’s vicissitudes, her love for community, and her desire to see others empowered to fulfill their calling resonates powerfully with our mission. Our partnership with Sandra arises from a long friendship and numerous collaborative projects over the past decade.
This new post will focus on three main areas: 1) developing new music to be used with Goldenwood offerings, 2) facilitating a Nashville-based Residency, and 3) providing creative strategic support for overall programming. We are so grateful to have Sandra with us and are eager to share her gifts with you all.
A note from Sandra:
“I’ve been deeply nourished in my spiritual and vocational life by participating in the Trellis rhythms and Goldenwood retreats these past few years. I’m excited to partner with David and Amilee and to be part of the team from Nashville. These past few years have been hard for all of us in different ways, and it’s a real joy to experience spiritual friendship within this community even across great geographical distances, as we’re listening and dreaming together about the Spirit’s renewing work in our hearts and in our world.”
On THURS MAR 10TH in NYC we gathered in-person for a special evening to welcome Sandra to the Goldenwood team and to celebrate the release of her recent album, “Carry Each Other”. The evening proved to be a timely and greatly needed opportunity to come together amidst the heaviness of this season, gathering as a community of longing and hope.
