“There’s nothing more genuinely artistic than to love people.”
-Vincent van Gogh
Red Vineyard is a new kind of fellowship for musicians and songwriters—an invitation to create from a place of rest, renewal, and deep spiritual attunement. Launching in January 2024 and hosted by Sandra McCracken and Goldenwood, this 7-month journey weaves together rich spiritual formation, collaborative retreats, and monthly workshops designed to nourish both faith and craft.
At the heart of Red Vineyard is a reimagined model of artist development—one shaped by the gift economy, not commercial pressure. By easing financial burdens and nurturing sacred rhythms of listening and generosity, the program offers artists space to rediscover their voice, vocation, and vision. Together, participants will create original songs that emerge from this spirit-led creative process.
Our hope is to foster a growing community where spiritual and artistic renewal go hand in hand. The first Red Vineyard cohort will form lasting relationships, produce inspired new work, and help lay the foundation for a sustainable, multi-generational creative ecosystem in Nashville and beyond.
We envision at least five annual cohorts over the next five years—overlapping in rhythm and rooted in shared values—each one adding depth to a movement of artists who listen deeply, create generously, and lead with hope.
Key Information
The 7-month commitment runs from Oct 2025 – Apr 2026
Three in-person songwriting retreats provide space for integrating spiritual practices and community into the process of making, with monthly sessions to punctuate the journey with special guests and creative resources that (we anticipate) will spark newness in our work individually and collectively.
The artists will journey together in smaller groups of 4 and pairs for rhythms of listening and communal spiritual discernment.
