ABOUT THIS WEEKEND’S THEME:

With the new year comes new opportunity for making self-betterment goals with gusto! But those intentions can come with confusion, lack of support, and are all too often devoid of the Spirit’s guidance.

Somewhere along the line, we forgot how deeply interconnected our spiritual selves are to our physical bodies. Our spirit resides within the physical form that God fearfully and wonderfully made, and as Christians our physical bodies are also (mysteriously) the place where God’s Spirit dwells. Therefore when Scripture calls our bodies a temple, it is a physical reality and not just a philosophical idea.

Despite this divine design of interconnection, we tend to separate the spiritual from the physical in our thoughts and in our actions. We don’t know what to eat, or when, we deprive ourselves of sleep and expose our bodies to toxins, we disassociate the stress in our spirits from our bodily reaction, all resulting in disease and disorder.

But God wants to bring us back. He wants to reconnect our spirits with our bodies, because it is in our bodies that His Spirit dwells. It is in the fullness of our embodied form that we can experience His Kingdom breaking into this world. How can we grow in spiritual discernment to know how to nourish, care for, and strengthen our bodies? And how can we experience the power of the Spirit leading us toward a fullness that encompasses both body and soul?

Led by the Goldenwood team and the founders of Re-well, Dr. Chika Okoli and Health Coach Amber Gentry, we have designed a unique weekend for physical and spiritual renewal. Modeling Christ’s earthly ministry, we will feast on good food and good teaching to reorient you in your body and nourish your soul. It is our hope that this weekend will renew your calling that your work might be revived by love.

Connect with your Body. Experience the Kingdom.

“Jesus replied, ‘The coming of the kingdom of God is not something that can be observed, nor will people say, “Here it is,” or “There it is,” because the kingdom of God is within you.” Luke 17: 20-21

ABOUT RE-WELL: Co-Founded by Dr. Chika Okoli, a Functional Medicine doctor, and Amber Gentry, a Health Coach, Re-well provides care rooted in the belief that our body, soul, and spirit are deeply connected, and that the ultimate healing power comes from God. At Re-well, we believe that the Church should lead the way in revolutionizing the healthcare industry and bringing healing to our land. With 90% of disease caused by diet and lifestyle, 1 in 4 people on antidepressant medication, and 1 in 2 men bound too have cancer before they are 65, it is clear that we need the Kingdom of God to break in to heal and restore what God has fearfully and wonderfully made: our bodies, souls, and spirits.
