SUMMARY:Trellis | Listening for God (A Two-Week Listening Journey)
DESCRIPTION:Our misconceptions of God can keep us from experiencing the incredible privileges of divine communion with Father\, Son\, and Spirit. Despite the ultimate mystery of who God is (how can the finite truly know the infinite?)\, the gospel is that this Triune God eagerly calls to us as both friend and child. \nThe (optional) accompanying text for this TRELLIS will be Dallas Willard’s Hearing God. This is a rich text as Willard guides us through how it is that we can actually hear God’s voice in our lives. With Scripture as its foundation\, Willard offers practical guidance in cultivating a life lived in conversation with God. \nThroughout the two-week experience\, you will be introduced to a variety of prayer forms\, learning to walk conversationally with God\, recognizing His voice in your life.  Trellis will guide you to integrate life-giving spiritual practices into everyday rhythms\, transforming and renewing our sense of calling.  Enter into this season with a new structure that provides the space and a community for hearing God’s voice and knowing who He reveals Himself to be in the midst of your everyday routines\, leading to holistic vitality. \nThe TRELLIS structure includes: \n\n1 Intro Session: Sun Nov 3\, 7:45-9p EST. (Online experience for theological introduction and time in listening quads. Recorded for those who cannot join live.)\n6 Communal Guided Listening Sessions: every Mon\, Wed\, and Fri 12:20-12:45p EST\, during the weeks of Nov 4 and 11. (Attend live or listen to the 25-min recordings at personal set times.)\nDaily Scripture Meditation and Exercise Pages: Individually in your Listening Book. (Participants are provided with a digital PDF or can order their own physical copy online via Amazon.)\n\nThe communal listening rhythms of TRELLIS are intentionally designed as intrusions into your regular daily routines and\, therefore can be entered into from wherever you are. For more about TRELLIS… \n——————————— \n“If a vine doesn’t have a trellis\, it will die. And if your life with Jesus doesn’t have some kind of structure to facilitate health and growth\, it will wither away…The point of a trellis isn’t to make the vines stand up straight in neat rows\, but rather to attain a rich\, deep glass of wine.” \n— John Mark Comer\, The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry \n

SUMMARY:DREAM FORUM | Round 1 (Virtual)
DESCRIPTION:NOVEMBER IS DREAMER MONTH!\nFor the past six months\, our twelve Dreamers have been guided on a communal journey of slowing down to discern God’s voice calling new things forth\, a process that included rhythms of stillness and listening to God for themselves and for one another\, spiritual direction\, coaching\, and dedicated resourcing from the broader Forum network. \nNow it’s time to bring YOUR skills\, connections\, and resources into this communal process of dream cultivation and play your part in taking up the calling we’ve received—a calling to reimagine and remake our world with love. \nWe’re extending this year’s Dream Forum across two nights\, highlighting six Dreamers each week\, to create more space for honoring these incredible Dreamers and nurturing generative connections. Together\, in Spirit-led community\, we can cultivate new vision to help bring beauty\, justice\, and restoration to our world. \nJoin us Nov 7th or Nov 14th (online) and let’s dream together! \nMore about Goldenwood’s Dream Forum…  \n  \nRSVP BELOW FOR 1 NIGHT OR BOTH!\n  \nROUND 1 (NOV 7\, 7:00p EST)\n \nMeet A.L. Mills (Nashville\, TN) | Bringing True Femininity Into Focus \nAt the core of much of the gender confusion happening in the world today is a very real issue: lack of identity. While there are godly books out there about what it is to be a man\, I searched for many years to find a counterpart that outlined what true femininity is. My book\, Feminine Agency\, is an overview of what it truly means to be a woman and where feminism has not always served women well. \n  \n  \n \n  \n  \nMeet Brad Watson (Austin\, TX) | A Center for Hope\, Belief\, and Learning\n \nI dream about creating a center (either physical or cultivated in different moments and cities) for people struggling to believe and yet still can’t leave their faith behind. Where they are able to experience faithful Christian community\, process questions\, and rebuild faith that isn’t baggage from their past but a blessing in their present and purpose for their future. My dream is we could help Christian communities do this in their context\, too. \n  \n \n  \nMeet Keziah Ruth (Liverpool\, U.K.) | DAMES: A ministry for single women often overlooked\n \nMy dream is of a singles ministry that specifically caters to the demographic of women who are statistically more likely to marry later in life\, not marry at all or who deal with higher rates of marital instability – Black and Global Majority women. A singles ministry that makes sure to include divorcees\, single parents and women living with disability or chronic illness and holds a yearly conference as a cornerstone of the ministry – a ‘royal’ affair that honours\, celebrates and empowers its members\, unlocking joy\, purpose and value in their singleness. \n  \n \nMeet Lauren Brown (New York\, NY) | Peregrine Immersion Gatherings\n \nMy dream is to host\, in Europe\, a well curated exploration of art\, history\, food\, culture to expand a traveler’s ( pilgrim or “ peregrini”) quest by setting apart a week in a unique venue with expert led workshops\, discussions and experiences. To ground others in a larger story in the context of an immersive retreat in a cross cultural setting. \n  \n  \n  \n \n  \nMeet Matt Perkins (Athens\, GA) | Building a Film Ecosystem\n \nMy dream is to build a film ecosystem in Athens\, Georgia\, that produces and shares divinely inspired stories with the world. \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \nMeet Steve Teng (Austin\, TX) | A Movement of Redemptive Work from the Margins \nMuch of the faith and work movement has overlooked resourcing and dignifying the daily work of those within under-resourced communities. I dream of a movement of redemptive work thriving in marginalized communities. It would start with the Church stepping in as “friends and family” for believers who may not have “friends and family” in business. Through a collective initiative\, we could offer access to capital\, relationships\, and formation and partner with entrepreneurs most proximate to the margins of our cities in bringing hope and renewal to the communities that need it most. \n  \n\nMeet the Dreamers in Round 2 (Nov 14th\, 7pm)\n

These positive effects will then ripple out into their homes and in their workplaces\, which will enhance flourishing exponentially all around. Essentially\, when you edify\, nurture and honor your soul\, as well as the body that houses it\, you will show up as your truest\, highest self with authenticity and authority that will better position you to be who God has called you to be and do what He has called you to do. \n  \n\nMeet Ellen (New York\, NY) | Renaissance Salons (NYC\, SF\, LA) \nI dream of bringing together architects\, designers\, documentarians\, photographers\, mathematicians\, doctors\, and interdisciplinary creatives to have generative and vulnerable conversations around experiencing beginner’s mind while pursuing something new. I see a gracious space offered to workshop\, critique\, refine\, and showcase serious new projects. \n  \n  \n  \n\nMeet Jonathan Abraham Kindberg (Austin\, TX) | The Diaspora Network \nImmigration is one of the hottest political topics of the day. It is also a central theme throughout the Scriptures. Over and over we see movement and migration being at the heart of the purposes of God and his people. The majority of immigrants coming to the US are Christians who are planting churches\, starting businesses and bringing renewal to the city and the church in North America. I dream of a national community of city networks which connect and mobilize immigrant churches and church leaders\, empower the next generation (1.5 and 2nd generation immigrants) as global Christian leaders and partner non-immigrant churches with the nations here in each city. \n  \n  \n \nMeet Sarah Spear (Portland\, CT) | Increasing Belonging for People Living with Disabilities \nAccessibility is still\, largely\, an unscalable endeavor which means that people relying on accessibility lose out and become further marginalized by our communities’ systems. Both people living with disabilities AND people entering their senior years benefit from accessibility. Businesses and residences can be designed with accessibility as a foremost consideration once easily available technology exists. \n  \n  \n  \n  \n \nMeet Jared Grabow (Dallas\, TX) | Transformation and Empowerment through the Arts \nMy life-long passion for the arts took a back seat to more immediate and practical necessities of a job in a bank\, a mortgage\, and raising two sweet and beautiful kids\, which in its own right is very fulfilling. However\, the dream to write my first novel has stayed with me. But the dream doesn’t end with the books themselves. I am also seeking a way to give back to the legacy of my childhood teacher who inspired a love for the arts and writing within me. Ms. McMillan founded a non-profit aimed at providing a Christian classical education to lower income families within South Dallas. My dream in is to tell the stories that I believe are put in my heart as an avenue toward cultural transformation and empowerment of vulnerable communities. \n  \n \n  \nMeet Garrett Moore (Athens\, GA) | Empowering and Equipping ALL God’s People \nI dream of a radically collaborative movement that does not merely invite minorities and marginalized people “to the table” of anglo-Presbyterians\, but builds a new partnership together\, sharing resources\, energy\, wisdom\, and authority\, for the common goal of empowering and equipping all of God’s people to live generatively\, aligned with the gospel\, in the power of the Spirit\, reflecting Christ’s beauty in every sphere of life. \n  \nMeet the Dreamers in Round 1 (Nov 7th\, 7pm)\n
