Institute Retreat | A Sacred Pause: Reflecting on Mortality, Legacy, and Love with Here To Honor

In the relentless pace of daily life, how often do we stop to ask: What does it mean to live well? What will we leave behind—not just in possessions, but in presence, in love, in the stories that remain?
Here to Honor, in collaboration with Goldenwood Institute, invites you to a mini-retreat of deep reflection—a sacred pause to sit with our mortality, not as something to fear, but as a lens through which to see life with greater clarity.
Legacy planning is more than a logistical process; it is a profoundly emotional, relational, and spiritual practice. It calls us to consider not just the documents we leave, but the values, wisdom, and love we impart. Through guided reflection, small group discussion, and contemplative exercises, we will create space to explore these deeper questions—fostering presence, honesty, and intentionality. Drawing from contemplative Christian traditions, we will also engage in meaningful practices like conducting a life review and creating an ethical will. These frameworks help us honor our past, discern what matters most, and shape a future filled with meaning.
Whether you are in a season of care-taking for a loved one, seeking clarity in your own next steps, or simply feeling the weight of time’s passing, this gathering will provide both tools and spiritual grounding for navigating the journey ahead. This is more than an event; it is an invitation. A moment set apart. A time to listen, to imagine, and to shape a legacy that speaks of love, wisdom, and hope.

At Goldenwood, we believe in a gift economy—where our work and giving is not transactional but part of a relational and generative system. Like a root network, where some trees bear more fruit in one season and others in another, this pricing approach allows for a shared ecosystem of flourishing—some contribute more so that others may receive, and all are sustained together.
Our tiered pricing model reflects this, allowing participants to contribute at a level that aligns with their capacity while supporting the mission to see work revived by love. We invite you to participate in a way that reflects your own season and capacity.
